Customers
- Your postcode, when you search, used to find nearby locksmiths and sent to the Mapbox geocoding service to obtain coordinates.
- Basic usage information from your browser.
Locksmiths
- Account details: email address and password.
- Listing details: business name, description, address, postcode, phone number, website, photo, services, prices, and service radius.
- Payment and subscription identifiers held with Stripe.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the directory and search service (legitimate interests).
- To manage locksmith accounts and subscriptions (contract).
- To process payments via Stripe (contract).
- To detect and prevent misuse or fraud (legitimate interests).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive limited information (such as a customer and subscription identifier) to manage your subscription.
5. Geocoding and maps
When you search, your postcode is sent to Mapbox to convert it to coordinates so we can calculate distances. Mapbox processes this information under its own privacy policy. Map tiles are loaded from Mapbox.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to protect the website. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies that track you across other websites.
7. Sharing
We share personal information only with: Stripe (payments), Mapbox (geocoding and maps), and where required by law or to protect our rights or those of others.
8. Retention
Postcode search data is cached for up to 30 days to speed up repeated searches. Locksmith account and listing data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, for example to comply with accounting obligations.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where it has been relied on. You can exercise these by contacting us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS) once the site is live and restricted access to account data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
